President Alex Bodden presents Patricia Collins who is leading the “Land Learn” pilot project at Penticton Senior Secondary School with a cheque for $1000.00 that the Rotary club of Penticton Sunrise gave to the project for the purchase of binoculars and field guides.
Pres. Alex also took the opportunity to join in on the field trip with 14 students and their leaders. Anona Kampe, who is a traditional knowledge keeper and story teller from the Penticton Indian Band welcomed the group to Indian Reserve #2 and led the tour. She introduced the students to the importance of the land to the First Nations People and some of the plants that have been traditionally used for food and other purposes.
