The Dictionary Project has been an initiative of the Penticton Sunrise Club for many years.  The goal is to provide every Grade 4 student in the Okanagan Skaha School District with their very own dictionary to use throughout their school years.

Teachers are surveyed regularly to ensure that dictionaries remain a relevant resource during this digital age.

Each fall,  dictionaries are ordered from "The Dictionary Project", a non profit organization providing dictionaries to many Rotary and other service clubs in North America.   Rotarians sort and place a sticker in each dictionary and deliver them to the classroom.    The students often write lovely thank you letters.

Rotarians delivered 403 dictionaries to the following 15 schools in 2020.    (Due to the pandemic,  Rotarians were not able to deliver dictionaries directly to classrooms this year.)
